Camalig Bank, FINTQ execs officially launch Lendr

Camalig Bank, Inc., the leading rural bank in Bicol Region, has partnered with FINTQ, the financial technology arm of PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. for the official launching of the mobile-based loan application and management platform called Lendr, which offers quick and secure access to Camalig Bank’s credit facilities.

Chairman/President Jose Misael B. Moraleda of Camalig Bank shared the company’s roots, values, and its commitment to the furtherance of financial inclusion, as he welcomed the guests for the official launching of Lendr held last May 17, 2017 at the Camalig Bank Corporate Office, Legazpi City.

The Lendr launch was attended by existing and potential Camalig Bank clients from local government units in Albay, academic institutions, and private companies. Lendr piloted its program in Bicol Region through Mobile Salary Loans.

During the same event, FINTQ Managing Director Lito Villanueva also stressed how mobile phones have changed the way Filipinos live, highlighting that these devices could also be a means to access financial services. Villanueva expressed his delight as Camalig Bank is the first rural bank to partner with FINTQ for the Lendr program.

Hon. Mayor Noel E. Rosal of Legazpi City graced the Lendr launch with his participation as the guest of honor, with him sharing the city government’s thrusts for progress and development. After the messages, the ceremonial pushing of button was done to officially launch the Lendr loan program.

Camalig Bank COO Geraldine P. Moraleda shared her message during the conclusion of the launch. She mentioned the important role of Camalig Bank and the whole banking industry in financial inclusion, for the greater task of nation-building.

The second part of the event was the whitelisting of eligible applicants for salary loans. Attendees experienced first-hand the accessibility of the Lendr app through Internet-connected smartphones. Loans were approved and released on the same day.
